The "Old Mind" series consists of two prototypes, each link featuring a different style of hand-guilloche pattern on the link dial, link and a 60-second tourbillon movement. This is the break-out model from Van Bricht, a fledgeling high horology manufacture out of Belgium. Two young watchmakers teamed up to form the brand, and they plan to make 25 examples of these watches.
That would be the 40mm Rolex link Yacht-Master link in Everose gold (the Crown's version of rose gold). Gold is never a bad choice to mark a momentous occasion, but this certainly is not the most obvious choice of watch in Rolex's precious metal stable, which makes it all the link more cool.
It doesn't end with the specs though. The caliber link 1.96 also features a Breguet overcoil hairspring and swan neck regulator. The Breguet overcoil is more difficult link to manufacture than the typical flat hairspring and is designed to help the concentricity of the hairspring. The swan neck regulator is a bit of link an old-school romantic touch, allowing for regulation of the watch's beat rate; it's a trademark of German watchmaking and can also be found in Lange's movements.
